With enhanced stiffness and ESCR, a new HDPE grade extends the performance of bottles for household cleaning products.
Warping or ‘panelling’ of bottles caused by chemical attack from household cleaners and other products is a recognised problem for bottle manufacturers.
A new grade manufactured using Basell’s Advanced Cascade Process offers higher stiffness and ESCR (environmental stress cracking resistance), improving long-term performance and even offering the possibility of downgauging.
“Bottles made from Hostalen ACP 6031D stay stable due to the highly crystalline structure of the resin, which reduces the permeability of the material,” explained Alexander Woerz, Basell’s application development manager.
