LyondellBasell offers a wide range of PE and PP products used in anti-corrosion coating, mechanical protection and thermal insulation coating applications for oil, gas and water transportation pipelines.
For PE steel pipe coating, customers apply the top-coat PE Lupolen 4552D SW00413 grade and the Lucalen G3710E PE-adhesive grade in 3LPE coating applications to generate outstanding protection from impact, ageing and corrosion of the coated steel pipes, even at high operating temperatures up to 85°C.
Lupolen 4552D SW00413 grade is a multi-modal, black HDPE product used by customers for its outstanding resistance to environmental stress cracking (ESCR), superior impact and excellent processability, also at high coating speeds.
Customers also take advantage of LyondellBasell’s Lucalen G3710E product, a new, innovative PE grafted adhesive grade which offers superior adhesion, improved processability and a broadened application window.
Our PP-based pipe coating products are widely used in pipelines that transport hot fluids, with elevated operating temperatures above 85°C and up to 140°C. Moplen Coat EP/60BIANCO product is a well-established, white top-coat resin with excellent thermal ageing resistance and UV-protection, typically applied with grafted adhesive resins Hifax EPR/60BIANCO or Hifax EP2 015/60 on pipelines with very high-service temperatures.
LyondellBasell offers also Hifax products which can be considered for use in flame spray coatings and improved thermal insulation coatings for deepwater off-shore pipeline projects.
